About Me

Dr. Jane M. Bishop, CCFP(FPA),FCFP

I am an experienced Family Physician Anesthesiologist and healthcare leader, currently enriched by the community of Sechelt, BC. My core competencies lie in comprehensive patient care, which includes obstetrics, emergency work, indigenous care, addictions care, inpatient and residential care, coupled with complementary medicine such as acupuncture.

The recent phase of my career has been marked by my role at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC in beginning to assess candidates for licensure, rather than them having to write exams.

My involvement in Compassionate Leadership with Shawn and Heather Atleo, and simulation continue to enhance my leadership skills.

My roles as the Family Physician with focused Practise sitting on Shared Care, and as Vice Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Rural Health (both Joint Collaberative Committees of the Doctors of BC and The Ministry of Health) gives me a current in depth perspective on BC wide issues in Health Care.
