I am honoured to provide this letter of endorsement for Dr. Jane Bishop to run for President of Doctors of BC. Our professional organization would truly benefit from her wealth of experience, her dedication to excellence within the profession, her tremendous energy and her delightful personality.
I have worked with Jane for over 20 years. I first met her as a family medicine resident in 2003. I have subsequently crossed paths and worked with Jane through my role as Family Physician Anesthesia(FPA) Network Lead with the RCCbc. We have collaborated on many initiatives ranging from our FPA clinical coaching program, to conference planning, to clinical courses and online journal clubs.
She is a physician that I first admired as an astute and caring clinician when I was a resident, and whom I have continued to respect through my career, as a role model in physician leadership. She is well-liked and highly regarded within the FPA community, and the RCCbc Core. She consistently contributes thoughtfully to discussions and demonstrates exceptional leadership within these networks.
Jane has a broad range of experience as a family physician, an anesthetist, and a medical leader. Through her years of experience and her devoted engagement to continuous improvement within the profession, she has developed a deep understanding of the challenges we face in our medical system. She is well-respected among her peers and she would be an exceptional representative for physicians and patients in the role of President of Doctors of BC.
